We're delighted to bring you our new organic herb seed gift sets. We know many people don't have gardens or other outside space, so we've chosen herb types that grow beautifully indoors, on any sunny windowsill.

Perfect for gardening and cooking enthusiasts, or anyone looking to start growing in the comfort of their own home!

This gift set contains the following items:

  • One handmade rainbow glass herb marker - 'BASIL'

  • Packet of organic basil seeds - 'Sweet Genovese'
  • Your choice of A5 postcard
  • 100% recycled kraft brown envelope
  • Free UK shipping included
  • 10% goes into our 'good causes' seed giveaway fund

Handmade rainbow glass herb marker - 'BASIL'

These gorgeous fused glass herb markers have been individually made for us by glass artist Genea Waterson (who also makes our beautiful rainbow plant stakes). They're just perfect for popping into herbs grown on your windowsill.

Each marker is handmade from seven different colours of top quality art glass that have been fused together in a kiln and then annealed to strengthen the glass.

The lettering is permanently fused into the glass, and the marker will not fade in sunlight, or rot in moisture.

The glass part of the marker is 7.5cm wide, 3.5cm tall and 6mm thick. The wire stake is 12cm long.

Packet of organic basil seeds - 'Sweet Genovese'

You'll receive a packet of our organic basil seeds (c. 600 seeds) printed with full sowing instructions. The variety is Sweet Genovese - the best culinary type for tomato-based Mediterranean dishes.

Easy to grow from seed, basil is popular in kitchens everywhere, and is used all over the world to flavour meat, fish, salads and sauces.

Basil doesn't like the cold, and is not frost-hardy - so you need to keep it in a relatively warm, sunny and sheltered spot. A kitchen windowsill is perfect!

You can find out more about our basil seeds - and how to grow them - right here.

Your choice of postcard

Use the 'choose your postcard' dropdown above to select which of the following two postcards you'd like to be included in this set:

To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow: Our flagship 'Seeds of Hope' design in a rainbow colourway, paired with the famous quote by Audrey Hepburn.

Spring will come: This new, winter design is an exclusive collaboration between us and Edinburgh-based illustrator Victoria Rose Ball - so you won't find it anywhere else! Victoria also created our 'Wildflowers in Scotland' postcard, and we're so proud of this beautiful snowdrop illustration in the same botanical style.

Each postcard has plenty of space for a personal message on the reverse. That means this set is perfect for posting as a gift to a loved one.

  • FURTHER PRODUCT DETAILS

    Our postcards

    All the postcards in our individual gift sets are extra-large, A5 size - that's 21cm x 14.8cm.

They're printed on uncoated, bright white 380gsm card. That means they're nice and sturdy, and perfect for writing on with any sort of pen.

    Our envelopes

The accompanying envelopes are all made from 100% recycled kraft flecked brown paper, and come with a handy peel and seal strip (so no need to lick!).

    Our seeds

We source all our seeds from a small network of trusted Scottish / UK suppliers.

We use seed-proof, hand-filled glassine paper seed packets for all our wildflower seeds. Glassine paper is 100% plastic-free, fully recyclable and biodegradable. This approach means we can also avoid the foil-sealed sachets many seed companies use, which are sadly not able to be recycled.

The clear cello bags we use to protect your items are also plant-based and 100% biodegradable.

Visit our environmental policies page to find out more!

  • DELIVERY INFORMATION

*We offer free shipping on all items*

    Shipping services

Smaller items are shipped via Royal Mail's standard 1st Class postal service. Larger orders are shipped via Parcelforce, with items fully tracked to their destinations.

We post your items within 24 hours whenever possible (and always within three working days).

    Shipping destinations

We currently only sell and ship within the UK. That's because environmental legislation (both in the UK and abroad) makes it quite complicated to send seeds overseas.

    Protecting your items in transit

Your items will be carefully packaged and fully protected in transit. We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously, and don't use any plastic in our packaging.

We've replaced parcel tape with brown paper tape, bubble wrap with tissue paper, jiffy bags with cardboard boxes or brown paper, and polystyrene 'peanuts' with GM-free starch-based loose fill, which is 100% biodegradable and compostable.

Visit our environmental policies page to find out more!

  • RETURNS POLICY

We take our customers' expectations extremely seriously, and it's really important to us that you are completely happy with your purchase.

If your item arrives damaged, or not as described, you are entitled to a full refund. Please let us know straight away by emailing photos to hello@seedsofhope.scot.

If you change your mind once you’ve received your item, we offer a 14 day, no-quibble returns period. In this case, the item needs to be returned to us in new condition and all its original packaging. You will also need to pay the return postage cost.
