Your wildflower seeds - bee-friendly Scottish mix

This nectar-rich, bee-friendly Scottish mix contains 24 different types of wildflower species that are perfect for bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects!

Here's the full species list: Cornflower, corn marigold, mayweed, teasel, viper's bugloss, weld, yarrow, clustered bellflower, common knapweed, field scabious, meadow cranesbill, wood cranesbill, rough hawkbit, ox-eye daisy, wild marjoram, selfheal, red campion, ragged robin, white campion, bladder campion, hedge woundwort, red clover, tufted vetch and bush vetch. Phew!

This 100% wildflower mix is perfect for creating a wildflower meadow or area of garden that will support your local wildlife. The mix includes a combination of annual, biennial and quick growing perennial wildflowers, providing excellent sources of nectar for bumblebees, honeybees, moths and butterflies. The annual species should bloom first, bringing colour and beauty in the first year. In subsequent years the perennials will bloom, and can be left to develop.

Sow March-May for summer flowers, or August-September for flowers next spring. Choose a flat, sunny spot about a metre wide. Clear any weeds and dig over the soil, then scatter your seeds, pressing or raking them in gently. No need to cover with earth or compost. Just water regularly!

Your choice of postcard

Use the 'choose your postcard' dropdown above to select which of the following four postcards you'd like to accompany your seeds:

Wildflowers in Scotland: Depicts 16 species of wildflower that you might find in Scotland today - from iconic species like poppy and cornflower, to lesser-known gems like thrift and wild pansy. Each species is named, so you can use the postcard as an identification guides or educational tool.

Let love grow: This gorgeous illustration depicts bright flowers emerging from a wildflower seed packet. What better way to show someone you love them?

To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow: Our flagship 'Seeds of Hope' design in a rainbow colourway, paired with the famous quote by Audrey Hepburn.

Harebells dancing in the Outer Hebrides: Legend has it that fairies live amongst these delicate flowers. Also known as Scottish bluebells, harebells are also loved by bees. The perfect postcard to accompany any wildflower seeds, particularly native Scottish species.

Each postcard has plenty of space for a personal message on the reverse. That means this set is perfect for posting as a gift to a loved one.

  • FURTHER PRODUCT DETAILS

    Our postcards

    All the postcards in our individual gift sets are extra-large, A5 size - that's 21cm x 14.8cm.

They're printed on uncoated, bright white 380gsm card. That means they're nice and sturdy, and perfect for writing on with any sort of pen.

    Our envelopes

The accompanying envelopes are all made from 100% recycled kraft flecked brown paper, and come with a handy peel and seal strip (so no need to lick!).

    Our seeds

We source all our seeds from a small network of trusted Scottish / UK suppliers.

We use seed-proof, hand-filled glassine paper seed packets for all our wildflower seeds. Glassine paper is 100% plastic-free, fully recyclable and biodegradable. This approach means we can also avoid the foil-sealed sachets many seed companies use, which are sadly not able to be recycled.

The clear cello bags we use to protect your items are also plant-based and 100% biodegradable.

  • DELIVERY INFORMATION

*We offer free shipping on all items*

    Shipping services

Smaller items are shipped via Royal Mail's standard 1st Class postal service. Larger orders are shipped via Parcelforce, with items fully tracked to their destinations.

We post your items within 24 hours whenever possible (and always within three working days).

    Shipping destinations

We currently only sell and ship within the UK. That's because environmental legislation (both in the UK and abroad) makes it quite complicated to send seeds overseas.

    Protecting your items in transit

Your items will be carefully packaged and fully protected in transit. We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously, and don't use any plastic in our packaging.

We've replaced parcel tape with brown paper tape, bubble wrap with tissue paper, jiffy bags with cardboard boxes or brown paper, and polystyrene 'peanuts' with GM-free starch-based loose fill, which is 100% biodegradable and compostable.

Visit our environmental policies page to find out more!

  • RETURNS POLICY

If you change your mind once you’ve received your item, we offer a 14 day, no-quibble returns period. In this case, the item needs to be returned to us in new condition and all its original packaging. You will also need to pay the return postage cost.
